Good to know
Questions, answered.
What Slow Chapters is, how it works, and what happens to your data.
What is Slow Chapters?
Slow Chapters is a quiet place to find your next book. Tell the BookPal the last book you loved, an author you trust or how you feel tonight, and it suggests a few real books with the author and year. There is also a four-question quiz, a book of the day and a Journal of reading guides.
How does it work?
You type or speak a question in any language. Our AI BookPal reads it, thinks about the mood and taste behind it, and suggests two or three books, each with a short note on why it fits you. Nothing to install and no account needed.
Is it free?
Yes. You get a few free questions every day. The quiz, the Journal and Today's page are always free.
Are the books real, and can the BookPal be wrong?
We ask it to suggest only real books, with the correct author and year, but an AI can still make mistakes. Please check a title at your library or bookshop before you buy. We would rather you borrow a good book than buy a wrong one.
Can I ask in my own language?
Yes. The BookPal answers in the language you write in. The website pages themselves are in English for now, and more languages are planned.
What happens to my questions and my email?
We do not store your chat messages on our own servers. Your question is processed by an AI provider only to create the answer. If you give your email, we use it only to send the letter you asked for, and you can unsubscribe any time. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Do you sell books, and do you earn money from links?
We do not sell books. Right now there are no affiliate links. If we ever add them, they will be clearly marked, they will cost you nothing extra, and they will never change what we recommend. See our Affiliate Disclosure.

The Slow Chapters Letter
One book, one paragraph, once a week.
No lists, no noise. A single book we think is worth an evening, and why.
Read slowly.
Ten minutes. One book. The page goes quiet and the lamp comes up.
